An AI Platform Becomes a Digital Assistant in a Russian Regional Ministry
During a pilot rollout, a new AI platform processed hundreds of documents in just hours, signaling a shift from experimental tech to everyday government use.

Authorities in Russia’s Moscow region have summarized the results of deploying artificial intelligence in public administration. According to the regional Ministry of Energy, which spoke with IT Russia, the agency ranked among the ten most active users of a newly introduced AI platform during its pilot phase.
The system demonstrated high efficiency throughout the trial. In total, it processed around 850 documents and spreadsheets, completing all employee requests in under five hours.
From Pilot Project to Daily Government Work
Ministry staff most frequently used the AI platform for quick legal consultations. The system was also tasked with proofreading documents, summarizing lengthy texts, analyzing data, and calculating the cost of connecting facilities to the power grid.
Feedback collected during the pilot was sent to developers to refine the platform. Its functionality is now being expanded: upcoming updates will allow users to upload scanned PDF documents, delete and edit submitted requests, and use the platform on smartphones through an optimized interface.
According to Moscow Region Energy Minister Sergey Voropanov, the pilot project confirmed both the demand for the platform and its technical viability. The system has already become a digital assistant in the ministry’s daily operations and will continue to evolve.
In 2026, developers plan to add support for processing images and audio recordings. The team also intends to launch a dedicated “builder” that will allow government agencies to create custom AI agents tailored to specific operational tasks.
