Pulkovo Airport has completed the launch of an upgraded control center responsible for coordinating all apron operations.

Aircraft and ground service vehicle movements, along with oversight of operational procedures, are now managed through a unified digital platform. Dispatchers have a full real-time view of all activity on the apron. Airport officials say the system has synchronized the work of all services, reduced delays, and improved safety.

Digital Transformation of the Airport

The platform runs on domestically developed software that creates a virtual model of the apron. The digital twin displays the location of each aircraft and the status of every stage of ground handling in real time. This approach allows operators to respond quickly to changing conditions and make faster decisions.

Earlier, the airport optimized passenger service processes and traffic flow management. The rollout of the digital platform marks another phase in a broader modernization program for the airport.

Today, Pulkovo is considered one of Russia’s most technologically advanced airports. Recently, it deployed a comprehensive resource management system based on 1S:Predpriyatie 8 (1C:Enterprise 8). The domestic ERP platform covers more than 70 airport divisions, streamlining financial and accounting operations, resource planning, real estate management, maintenance and repair of specialized vehicles and equipment, and simplifying work with tenants and airlines.
