Artists and Algorithms Share the Canvas in Russia’s Regional Art Shows
The city of Ishim is set to showcase unique artworks created in collaboration with artificial intelligence.

In the small city of Ishim in Russia’s Tyumen region, the first digital art exhibition is set to open, featuring works where neural networks helped artists bring their creative ideas to life.
The exhibition, titled Creative Code, explores how modern technologies are becoming a new tool in the hands of artists. It will feature 36 digital works created by participants in a local creative laboratory using artificial intelligence algorithms.
The artists worked in a mixed technique: a neural network generated the initial concept based on a prompt, after which the human creator refined the image, either manually or using graphic editing software.
Multimedia Fantastical Landscapes
Visitors will see landscapes, fantastical scenes, portraits, and abstract compositions born from this digital symbiosis. As Roman Drobunin, head of the My Territory creative center, noted, the project is designed to spark dialogue with audiences about new forms of artistic expression.
Similar initiatives are emerging in other regions as well. In Orenburg, a neural network created an artist’s self-portrait for a solo exhibition. At Moscow’s Tretyakov Gallery, a virtual exhibition titled Humans and Neural Networks: Who Creates Whom was developed in collaboration with Yandex’s research lab.
Digital technologies are reshaping artistic formats, making art more multifaceted and engaging for the public.
