Since the start of 2026, Russian developers have taken part in several major international events, presenting solutions in cybersecurity, healthcare, urban management, and business process automation. Sergey Lebedev, CEO of Orient Systems, shared his assessment of the export potential of Russian technologies with IT RUSSIA.

“Russia’s digital exports today rest on a unique combination of deep engineering expertise and practical experience gained during large-scale transformation. Global interest has shifted from standalone products to integrated industry solutions, and this is where Russian companies demonstrate significant advantages,” he said.

According to Lebedev, key export potential is concentrated in several high-tech segments. First are solutions at the intersection of artificial intelligence and big data, such as predictive analytics for industry and geospatial data processing. Second are cybersecurity and fintech systems tested under demanding conditions, including experience in building national payment infrastructures. Third are ready-made GovTech digitalization models for public administration, which are in demand in many countries.

Technology Synergy

“The key impact in industrial digitalization comes from the synergy of different technologies. For example, integrating industrial IoT, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and high-precision positioning technologies creates a full digital cycle for sectors such as construction, agriculture, and mining. Our GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) solutions, proven reliable in harsh climates, are a critical component of such ecosystems, which explains the growing demand for them in markets across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America,” Lebedev emphasized.

He added that exporting educational technologies (EdTech) that transfer expertise and enable smooth deployment of complex systems is a logical complement. As a result, Russian exports increasingly take the form of comprehensive, sustainable digital transformation models.

“Success on the global stage is defined not by technological independence alone, but by the ability to deliver measurable economic results to clients. The most in-demand players are those offering not just a product, but a technology tailored to solving a specific industry challenge with a clear financial impact,” Lebedev said.
