Justus Nzioki: Artificial Intelligence and Smart Cities Are Key Areas of Development
At the 2nd Global Digital Forum, taking place October 8–10 at the Mechta venue in Moscow’s Gorky Park, delegates from 120 countries are looking for ways to narrow the technology gap between nations and discussing the limits of AI use.

Justus Nzioki, a representative of Kenya, spoke to an IT Russia correspondent about key areas of technological development, AI regulation and urban safety:
– I believe artificial intelligence and smart cities are among the key areas of high-tech development today.
Artificial intelligence needs to be regulated. Technologies are evolving rapidly, new generations of solutions are emerging, and so are threats such as deepfakes. That is why it is important to monitor how these technologies are used to prevent the spread of false information and propaganda.
When it comes to smart cities, a comprehensive approach to urban development is essential. This includes building good roads, creating dedicated pedestrian routes and developing an extensive transportation network encompassing cars, trains and trams. Video surveillance is also necessary to keep cities safe.
