Mohamed Osama: International Cooperation Helps Narrow the Technology Gap
IT developers and experts from 120 countries have gathered at the 2nd Global Digital Forum.

Today, they are discussing responsible AI development, access to digital services and the protection of human rights in the age of algorithms. Mohamed Osama, a representative of Egypt’s National Institute of Governance and Sustainable Development, spoke to an IT Russia correspondent on the sidelines of the forum about approaches to technology development and international cooperation that can help narrow the technology gap:
– I represent the National Institute of Governance and Sustainable Development in Egypt.
In my view, if we want to change society, financial technologies could be among the most effective tools. They have the potential to significantly improve the situation.
At the same time, cooperation between countries is essential to advance technology and narrow the technology gap. If a country does not have a particular technology, it can turn to other countries and learn from their experience. We see that Russia has many solutions that could also be useful to us.
Every country and every partner has its own strengths and its own approach to technology development. Bringing these efforts together can therefore produce results for everyone. It is impossible to develop modern technologies on your own.
I hope that at this forum I will have an opportunity to meet professionalss and colleagues and introduce them to my institute and my country. In addition, we are scheduled to sign a memorandum with the IT Russia media platform tomorrow, and I hope to take part in it.
