Online Retail Turnover Is Rising in Russia
Internet sellers recorded a 26% increase in monetary turnover over the past year.

Online retail turnover in Russia increased in 2025, according to data from payment provider YooKassa. Monetary turnover rose by 26% over 12 months, the number of purchases increased by 16%, and the average transaction value climbed by 9%.
The fastest growth was recorded among small online stores, whose number rose by 61% year on year. These businesses generate up to 1 million rubles a month (about $12,000). Over the year, their turnover grew by 82%, while the number of payments surged by 90%.
Big and Small Are Both Growing
The number of mid-sized online stores, with monthly turnover of up to 15 million rubles (around $180,000), increased by 23%. Payment turnover in this segment rose by 76%. The number of large online marketplaces also grew, up 34% year on year. Their monthly turnover exceeds 15 million rubles ($180,000) and rose by 54%.
According to the Association of Internet Trade Companies, e-commerce turnover in the first half of 2025 grew by one-third and exceeded 5.3 trillion rubles (roughly $63 billion). Around 70% of Russians regularly shop online. Modern digital services are making shopping cheaper, more accessible, and more convenient.
