Penza Agricultural University Adopts Agricultural Drones for Crop Treatment
The university received funding for the initiative through a national technology development program.

Penza State Agrarian University has introduced the use of agricultural drones for crop treatment. The university received government funding for the project through the Bespilotnye aviatsionnye sistemy (Unmanned Aircraft Systems national project).
A contract for the drone-based operations was awarded to Uniloud-Agro LLC. The contractor will carry out a range of tasks aimed at protecting crops from pests and improving yields.
University officials say modern agricultural drones can increase operational efficiency while requiring minimal labor. According to agricultural producers, using unmanned aerial systems for crop treatment can reduce chemical consumption by between 15% and 25%. The drones also avoid damaging plants and can operate effectively even in challenging terrain.
