Russian Lawmaker Proposes Requiring Health Advice Labels for Bloggers
Russian State Duma deputy Dmitry Novikov has proposed requiring bloggers to label content that offers advice on health, nutrition, fitness, or medical treatment. He argues that the internet is saturated with self-described "experts" who lack relevant qualifications yet present medical advice as personal experience, while hidden advertising is often disguised as scientific fact.

Novikov said responsibility should rest not only with bloggers but also with the platforms that distribute their content. He also called for stronger protections for children, older adults, and people with serious illnesses, proposing that content discussing treatment for severe medical conditions without references to clinical guidelines should include a warning advising readers to consult a physician.
Earlier, Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project for Security and Anti-Corruption (FPBK), proposed introducing mandatory certification for bloggers, including required training courses.
