Russian Universities Add AI-Focused Lectures to Academic Programs

Russian universities are rapidly integrating artificial intelligence into academic programs, training faculty to apply AI tools, build learning materials with generative systems, and automate routine tasks

Expanding AI Education Nationwide

Many Russian universities are incorporating AI-focused coursework into their academic programs. The initiative reached Ulan-Ude as well, where faculty from the Departments of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Applied Informatics and Data Analytics at the East Siberian State University of Technology and Management completed an advanced training program titled “Artificial Intelligence in the Professional Activities of University Educators.”

The curriculum combined lectures with practical workshops in which instructors explored modern AI services and learned how to integrate them into the teaching process.

Creation and Progress

The participants studied strategies for implementing AI in academic work and examined digital tools for data analytics and generative systems capable of creating customized educational materials.

The program placed special emphasis on the use of AI for assessing student knowledge and supporting research activities. Ethical considerations, safety issues, and long-term prospects for AI in education were also key components.

A Catalyst for Better Education

The training reinforced a broader trend: modern AI technologies can significantly enhance educational quality. By automating routine tasks, AI frees up time for creative and research-driven work, improving both teaching efficiency and student engagement.
