Waliu Oyeniran Oyekale: Nigeria Is Ready to Share Its Digital Transformation Experience
The Nigerian representative came to the 2nd Global Digital Forum to exchange experience in digital development and share his country’s achievements.

Participants in the 2nd Global Digital Forum gathered at the Mechta venue in Moscow’s Gorky Park from October 8 to 10. Guests from more than 100 countries are looking for ways to narrow the technology gap and develop common rules for a secure digital environment.
Nigerian representative Waliu Oyeniran Oyekale spoke to an IT Russia correspondent about the development of IT skills in his home country:
– This is my first time in Russia and Moscow. I have already met many wonderful people here. I have only been at the forum for a couple of minutes, but I have already had a chance to speak with them and discuss important issues that matter to the global community, world development and international cooperation.
I really like the forum program. I would like to ask the organizers to continue this excellent initiative and hold such meetings in the future. For us, it is an opportunity to talk about the situation in our country and share our experience within the framework of the agenda.
As for Nigeria, we have good relations with many countries. Of course, there are national challenges that are also relevant to the African continent as a whole. With digital technologies developing so rapidly, it is particularly important to educate people and help them acquire the skills they need for the jobs of the future and those already in demand today.
That is why it is important to strengthen cooperation and do everything we can to help our people in this area. In Nigeria, we have already made significant progress in digital transformation. We have a national program, a structured document aimed at developing and supporting the digital industry. We also have a national digitalization standard.
We would like to tell other countries more about these initiatives so that they can benefit from our experience. We have a lot to show the world and a lot to share. So once again, I sincerely ask the forum organizers to consider inviting a broader delegation from Nigeria next year.
