Amzad Hossain Samim: We Need to Understand How to Develop AI to Benefit Humanity Without Causing Mass Unemployment
Representatives from countries around the world came to Moscow for the 2nd Global Digital Forum to exchange experience in digital technology and discuss prospects for joint projects.

The forum’s business program covers digital sovereignty, the development of the IT industry, and international cooperation. Amzad Hossain Samim, founder and CEO of a software development company from Bangladesh, spoke to the IT Russia media platform about how artificial intelligence can boost productivity and why it should not replace people.
– This is my first time in Russia. I really enjoyed the forum, and there were many useful sessions. I found the discussions about digital assets and the digital world particularly interesting. I learned a lot, and this knowledge will be useful in my business, not only in Bangladesh but, I hope, in Russia as well.
Today, artificial intelligence is one of the most in-demand technologies. Many people fear that it will replace human workers. But I believe AI should be used as a colleague and assistant. In that role, it can improve production efficiency and labor productivity.
We need to understand how to develop artificial intelligence so that it benefits humanity without causing mass unemployment. For example, we should not end up in a situation where one person uses AI to do the work of five or six employees, leaving the others without jobs. One way to address this is to develop rules that encourage the use of AI as a tool to support people rather than replace them.
As a software developer, I want AI to help me do my job. Other professionals can also use it to increase their productivity. I think that in ten years, artificial intelligence will have advanced significantly, many new intelligent products will have emerged, and the field itself will have changed considerably.
AI is already widely used in software development. It helps programmers and developers and is also becoming a useful tool for design and engineering.
