Baraa Jallad: Russia and Palestine Could Cooperate on Emerging Technologies
A Palestinian participant in the Second Global Digital Forum spoke about her impressions of Skolkovo, Russian technologies and opportunities for technology cooperation.
Moscow is welcoming participants in the Second Global Digital Forum, which is set to take place at the Mechta venue in Gorky Park from October 8 to 10. Ahead of the official opening, visitors to the Russian capital toured the Skolkovo Innovation Center, where they shared their views with the IT Russia media platform on the changes ahead in digital technology.
Baraa Jallad, an engineer from Palestine, shared her impressions:
– Skolkovo really impressed me. I can see that it's a technology hub, a kind of Silicon Valley for Russia. There are many different innovations here, including in artificial intelligence. I really liked everything I saw. I'm genuinely surprised and impressed by Russia, and I'd like to come back.
This isn't my first digital forum. I attended a similar event last year and saw a small delivery vehicle. At first, I thought it was just a toy. It turned out that the vehicle travels around Moscow delivering groceries and other items to people. Yesterday, I was lucky enough to see one of those vehicles again, right on the street.
Today at Skolkovo, we toured the innovation center, where I saw many robots and learned how they are used. I can see that digital technologies are already working and being used in everyday life. I like the fact that Russia is actively putting modern technologies into practice.
I think there are many opportunities for Russia and Palestine to cooperate in this field. Russia has some interesting technological solutions, and in my view, technologies like these are the future. Both countries also have many young, talented and creative people who are interested in digital technology and artificial intelligence. I think that's a good foundation for working together.
Perhaps we should also focus on supporting early-stage companies and startups. My company is a startup too, so this issue is particularly important to me. I think we can support young people and emerging companies on both sides.
I'd like to be a bridge between Russia and Palestine. We have many young people in our country as well, so I'd like to organize training for them and help them learn about technology. I'd like our countries to cooperate in this field.
At the forum, I'd also like to make new connections and find opportunities for future cooperation.
