Benjamin Sipho Singiswa: South Africa and Russia Are Longstanding Partners and Friends
The 2nd Global Digital Forum is taking place in Moscow from October 8 to 10, bringing together representatives from 120 countries, including IT developers, researchers, businesspeople and journalists.
Participants are exploring how to balance technological independence with international cooperation. Here, digital sovereignty is understood not only as the ability to develop homegrown technologies, but also as the capacity to independently build and maintain infrastructure, services and digital solutions.
Benjamin Sipho Singiswa, a documentary filmmaker, director, cinematographer, producer, political analyst, writer, lecturer and human rights advocate, spoke to the IT Russia media platform about the importance of international cooperation and the partnership between Russia and South Africa:
– I am very grateful to have been invited to this forum. I have learned a lot here. I can see that the world is becoming more globalized, and so is the economy. That is why we need to share information about different countries. South Africa and Russia are longstanding partners and friends. Russia has always given us strong support, going back to the days of the Soviet Union. We are now both members of BRICS, and I hope we can continue our partnership.
