Virtual Teacher to Explain Deduction and Induction to Russian Schoolchildren

Russian schoolchildren will soon have access to a virtual teacher who will explain the concepts of deduction and induction in mathematics, making these complex ideas more accessible.

Students from Novgorod State University have developed a unique educational platform for schoolchildren and teachers, where they can learn about the methods of deduction and induction in algebra. The site offers lectures, interactive exercises, and tests. Students will not only study key concepts but also have the opportunity to test their knowledge in practice, while teachers will have access to methodological materials.

As the project's author, Uliana Kemstach, a student at the Pedagogical Institute, explained, the project team has shared their own research, practical advice for working with interactive services, and even lesson plans.

Geometric Concepts in Real Life

"We aim to inspire teachers to adopt new approaches to teaching mathematics, making lessons more engaging and interactive. One section of the site is also dedicated to preparing for the Unified State Exam (EGE). The test includes tasks of varying difficulty, covering combinatorics, number theory, sequences, and polynomials,” said Uliana Kemstach.

According to Ludmila Tokareva, associate professor of algebra and geometry at NovSU, students tend to perform worse on geometry tasks than on algebra problems.

"Solving applied problems will help improve students' understanding of geometric concepts and contribute to better exam results,” said Tokareva.

The developers have also created an electronic guide with detailed solutions to EGE and OGE tasks, demonstrating how geometric concepts work in real-life situations.
