David Kiriago: AI in Transportation Is Amazing
A Kenyan participant in the Global Digital Forum said the history of computing impressed him most during his visit to VDNKh and spoke about the Russian technologies he would like to explore.

From October 8 to 10, leading IT analysts and developers from around the world are set to gather at the Mechta complex in Moscow for the Second Global Digital Forum. Before the business program begins, guests toured VDNKh and answered questions from the IT Russia media platform. David Kiriago of Kenya was particularly impressed by IT exhibits from the last century and today's smart transportation systems:
– What I liked most was the history of computing. At the exhibition, I saw some of the earliest computers, computers dating back to 1985, and how rapidly the technology evolved. As an IT professional, I can tell you: it's simply amazing!
As for Russian technologies, I'm most interested in the smart city concept. It's really impressive, especially the way artificial intelligence helps manage train and tram traffic. There's also technology that helps wake a driver when a sensor detects that they're starting to fall asleep and close their eyes. More broadly, I'd be very interested in exploring how technology can help us in modern life.
I'm confident that during the Global Digital Forum I'll have a chance to discover new ideas and technologies, meet new people and expand my knowledge. This is my second time in Russia, and I have very high expectations. The first time, I visited Nizhny Novgorod. I've already learned how to pronounce the city's name correctly in Russian, and I really enjoyed my time there, so I'm expecting even more this time.
