Giri Maulana: “Technology Can Connect Us in the Digital Space, but True Cooperation Starts With People”

The forum program includes presentations of technology solutions for building sovereign digital infrastructure, meetings with leading Russian IT companies, and discussions of ways to integrate products and solutions from international partners into national digital ecosystems.

On the eve of the forum, Giri Maulana, CEO of PT Wujud Nyata Harapan (Indonesia), told IT Russia about the kind of cooperation he hopes to establish between Indonesia and Russia, why signing memorandums is not enough to build a genuine partnership, and what role child digital safety plays in his work.

– For me, attending the Global Digital Forum is not simply about visiting Moscow or participating in an international event. It is an opportunity to meet people who are thinking about the same question from different perspectives: how can digital technology create meaningful connections, opportunities, and positive change for society?

I come from Indonesia and work in the creative and digital industry through IONZ Creative Digital, a company working across video production, media, education, and creative development. My background in filmmaking and education has made me particularly interested in the intersection between technology, creativity, and human development.

One of my expectations from the Forum is to discover how Russia and other participating countries are approaching the rapid development of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. AI is already transforming the way we create films, produce content, communicate, and learn. However, I believe the most important question is not only what technology can do, but what we choose to do with it.

I am especially interested in discussions around the human side of digital transformation: digital literacy, education, creativity, and the creation of a safe digital environment for children. As more young people grow up surrounded by digital platforms and AI-generated content, cooperation between countries becomes increasingly important. We need to exchange experiences and develop solutions that allow technology to empower children and communities while protecting them from its potential risks.

I also see the Global Digital Forum as a place to build practical cooperation between Indonesia and Russia. I hope to explore opportunities for content exchange, creative collaboration, educational programs, and the development of new projects involving filmmakers, educators, technology companies, and young creators from both countries.

For me, international cooperation should go beyond signing a memorandum. A memorandum should become a starting point for real activities, real people meeting each other, and real projects being created together.

Ultimately, I expect to return from the Global Digital Forum not only with new ideas, but with new partners and a clearer understanding of what we can build together. Technology may connect us digitally, but meaningful collaboration still begins with people willing to listen, share, and create something together.

That is what I hope to find at the Global Digital Forum.
