AI Helps Russian Patients Decode Lab Test Results
An AI-powered tool is helping patients interpret medical test results in plain language and flag potential health concerns
Residents of the Taldom district can now decode their lab results using the Dobrodel Zdorovye (Dobrodel Health app) service. The AI-based tool explains complex medical terminology in simple terms and, if it detects abnormal values, offers recommendations—also in clear, accessible language.
Translating Medical Data Into Plain Language
How does it work? Users upload a photo of their lab report or enter the data manually. The system analyzes the image and translates unfamiliar medical abbreviations into plain English. It also compares the results against age- and sex-specific reference ranges and generates an easy-to-understand summary. The app is available for anyone to download.
Advanced tools are not limited to patients. Healthcare professionals are also adopting AI-driven systems. Medical facilities across the Moscow region, including the Taldom branch of Dubna Hospital, are introducing voice assistants that automatically fill in medical records during patient consultations. Another system, AIDA, acts as a diagnostic assistant, helping confirm or refine diagnoses based on symptoms and test results. Final decisions remain with physicians, but an additional expert-level assessment can support clinical judgment.
