Junzhi Deng: BRICS Countries Can Expand Cooperation in the Digital Economy

The Global Digital Forum in Moscow is wrapping up three days of discussions. From October 8 to 10, participants from nearly 120 countries explored how to maintain technological independence while continuing to develop international cooperation.

The event provided a platform not only for exchanging experience but also for signing agreements. One of them aims to promote scientific cooperation among BRICS countries.

Junzhi Deng, a researcher at the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, spoke to the IT Russia media platform about prospects for joint work in the digital economy.

– I came from China. I currently work at the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, where I research the digital economy in BRICS countries.

The agreement we signed today aims to promote international scientific cooperation among BRICS countries. Together with our colleagues, we will conduct joint research in various fields, including marketing and international business, both in person and remotely, and continue working together.

The BRICS summit took place last month, and many initiatives are now being put forward at the intergovernmental level.

Under the new agreement, particular attention will be given to cooperation in education and science.

The digital economy and technology are developing rapidly and have become one of the most important areas today. At our university, IT is used across the board: in lectures, research, and competitions.

Digital tools are extremely important for China, Russia, and all BRICS countries. Among other things, they help shape the future of education. That is why this is an important area of cooperation for us.
