Azimuth Completes Technical Upgrade of Makhachkala Airport
The airport has received a range of modern digital systems.
Azimuth has completed the installation of new equipment at Makhachkala Airport as part of its reconstruction. The airport has been equipped with modern air traffic control, navigation and transportation security systems.
Makhachkala Airport is reported to be the first facility in the country to deploy the Vzor (Sight) biometric system. The domestically developed equipment identifies individuals by their iris patterns and is used to control employee access to restricted areas. The Kiosk hardware and software system was installed alongside Vzor. It automatically records iris, facial, fingerprint or voice templates and integrates with existing access control and management systems.
The airport’s air traffic control center has received the Galaktika (Galaxy) traffic management system. It collects, provides redundancy for, processes and delivers information about air traffic conditions to controllers. The system reduces the workload on personnel, improves flight safety and increases the capacity of the airspace.
