Russia Plans to Launch a National AI Platform for Schools by 2030
By 2030, Russia aims to roll out a national artificial intelligence platform for schools — a move designed to make AI a true teaching assistant rather than just a digital answer engine for students.

The initiative to create a national AI system for general education comes jointly from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Digital Development. The platform will include a range of AI-based tools to assist both teachers and students.
Experts predict that widespread adoption of AI tools in Russian schools could happen within the next three to five years. However, they emphasize that success depends on clear regulations and government support. The biggest challenge isn’t hardware but implementation — determining how AI will fit into the school schedule, what roles it will play, and how teachers will remain central to the learning process.
If successful, the initiative could make Russian education more personalized, efficient, and inclusive — particularly in remote regions where digital tools can bridge the gap in teaching resources.
