Russian Students Develop a Digital Assistant for Investigators
The software is designed to streamline document handling in criminal investigations.

Students at Samara State University have developed a digital document management system for law enforcement agencies. According to the university’s press service, the team combined analytical online tools with an intelligent prompt system to support investigators in their day-to-day work.
The application is designed to optimize work with documents, which are abundant in investigative proceedings. Developers propose moving paperwork entirely into digital form. This approach could speed up investigations, reduce the risk of errors, and make case management more transparent.
From Reports to Case Narratives
According to the developers, the application maintains a complete digital record of documents, flags cases with approaching procedural deadlines, and generates reports both in standard formats and on demand. The software can also automatically draft a case narrative based on provisions of the Criminal Code. It includes built-in tools for data optimization.
The system has already received a patent and is now being introduced into the law enforcement workflow.
Developers say their goal was to create a full-fledged platform that could become the backbone of investigative recordkeeping. In the longer term, they envision a unified digital ecosystem that would allow different agencies responsible for public safety to work together more effectively.
