Digital Inspector Processes Tens of Thousands of Taxi Applications in Moscow Region
Authorities moved taxi operators to AI-based oversight in September 2025
A digital inspector on the Moscow Region’s government services portal has processed more than 57,000 applications from taxi drivers over six months, according to the regional Ministry of Public Administration, Information Technology, and Communications.
Responsibility for reviewing documents for issuing or revoking taxi permits was delegated to a neural network in September 2025. The system analyzes uploaded files and identifies incorrect documents, inconsistencies, and errors in seconds. The new approach has significantly reduced the number of rejections caused by incomplete or incorrect paperwork.
Demand Rises as Rejections Fall
According to agency head Nadezhda Kurtyanik, the online taxi permit service is gaining traction among local businesses.
The service—covering the issuance and revocation of taxi permits—is available to individual entrepreneurs, legal entities, and self-employed workers registered in the Moscow Region.
