AI Career Bot to Guide Russian Students Toward Biotech Professions
A new Telegram assistant helps young people identify their strengths and choose in-demand careers in biotechnology.
Developers at the Advanced Engineering School “Institute of Biotechnology, Bioengineering, and Food Systems” of the Far Eastern Federal University have created “Biotech GURU,” a Telegram bot designed to help schoolchildren and students navigate career options in the growing field of biotechnology.
From Personality to Profession
The bot guides users through a career orientation quiz that analyzes their answers and matches them to key fields such as genetic and cellular engineering, food biotechnology, bioinformatics, eco-biotechnology, and engineering. Based on the highest scores, the algorithm recommends a professional path and provides detailed descriptions of each specialty.
The project combines education, science, and career planning in a single digital platform. It helps users connect their personal traits and skills with real opportunities in modern biotechnology.
The initiative is also part of a broader effort to promote biotechnology and develop the bioeconomy in Russia’s Far East—encouraging students to explore one of the fastest-growing and most in-demand scientific fields of the future.
