Students at Murmansk Arctic University have developed a platform that uses artificial intelligence to create personalized online art therapy programs for children with disabilities.

According to the press service of the Platforma Natsionalnoi Tekhnologicheskoi Initsiativy (National Technology Initiative Platform), the system analyzes the type of disability, a child’s age, interests, and rehabilitation history. Based on this data, it recommends suitable activities as well as psychologists and art therapists. Nikita Zanozin, head of the startup Integratsiya-Plus, added that AI technologies also help track progress and assess therapy outcomes.

Existing solutions typically lack tools for monitoring progress and adapting programs to individual needs.

Beyond Rehabilitation, Toward Communication

Thanks to its innovative features, the student-developed platform makes art therapy accessible to children with disabilities across the country.

The platform’s capabilities extend well beyond rehabilitation alone. The project also helps build communication skills, develop cognitive functions, motor skills, and sensory perception, while reducing anxiety and stress. In addition, parents of children with disabilities can interact on the platform in a social network–like environment.
