Russia to Launch Unified Digital Registry for Pregnant Women and Newborns
Starting March 1, medical records for expectant mothers and infants will be consolidated into a single federal digital system.

Beginning March 1, Russia will roll out a unified digital database covering pregnant women and newborns. The system will consolidate medical information within the federal healthcare infrastructure.
For Medical Organizations
The registry will include data on women who consult obstetricians and gynecologists. It will record gestational age, the date a patient is placed under medical supervision, information on the use of assisted reproductive technologies, as well as details about serious conditions and pregnancy-related complications. Access to the database will be granted to medical institutions connected to the state healthcare information system.
After a child is born, information about the newborn will be added to the registry. The digital record will include the date and time of birth, sex, height, weight and the Apgar score assessment. This will allow key health indicators to be documented immediately after delivery and preserved within a unified digital profile.
Digital Healthcare Infrastructure
The new registry will form part of the country’s broader digital healthcare framework. It is designed to enable physicians to access a patient’s full medical history across different healthcare providers and ensure standardized data collection nationwide. The system is built to integrate with existing electronic medical records and regional health services.
The creation of the registry is expected to generate a comprehensive national dataset on pregnancy and childbirth outcomes.
