Aeroflot and T2 to Expand Digital Services on Commercial Flights
The initiative is part of a cooperation agreement signed by the two companies.
Aeroflot and mobile operator T2 have agreed to work together on expanding telecommunications services aboard commercial aircraft. The newly signed agreement includes a preliminary roadmap for the required development and testing work.
Under the partnership, the companies plan to test technical solutions that would provide onboard internet access via Wi‑Fi using LTE 450 MHz spectrum. The service is expected to become available on an experimental basis aboard several aircraft in the near future. The final service format will be determined after testing is completed.
T2 will also provide expert support on obtaining the permits and regulatory approvals required to launch the service in full compliance with aviation safety requirements.
