AI Chat in Russia’s Top Mapping App Will Plan Residents’ Day for Them
Yandex Maps has added an AI-powered chat assistant designed to plan outings, suggest activities, and build personalized daily itineraries.
Yandex Maps has introduced the first AI chat assistant in any Russian geoservice, built on the company’s Alice AI platform, according to a company announcement.
The smart assistant suggests things to do in a city, generates curated lists and reviews of places, and can build a personalized day plan for traveling to another city. It accounts for user preferences and current location. Recommendations and venue cards can be opened directly from the chat.
It Reads Context and Understands Complex Queries
The chat is powered by Alice AI technologies. According to the company, the system was trained to handle complex, context-heavy requests. It analyzes venue descriptions and user reviews, and the dialogue can be refined with additional details for more accurate results.
In the future, users will be able to book restaurant tables or beauty appointments directly through the chat. The AI will also learn to build routes and generate personalized recommendations for places and events.
