AI Designs Amber Jewelry for Russia’s Amber Combine
A neural network has generated a candy‑inspired jewelry design that Kaliningrad’s Amber Combine turned into a physical art piece—the first AI‑assisted creation in the factory’s history.
The Kaliningrad Amber Combine, part of the Rostec State Corporation, produced earrings and a pendant shaped like candy pieces imagined by an artificial intelligence system, the corporation’s press service reported.
The concept originated during a social media contest in which anyone could use a neural network to design an amber jewelry piece. From more than 350 submitted sketches, organizers selected “sun‑stone candies” as the winning design.

The pieces were made from transparent amber. Their resemblance to real candy was achieved using a special autoclave treatment called “hulling.” Jewelers created silver wrappers for the candy shapes. Each earring and pendant contains around three grams of amber and approximately six grams of silver.
The only copy of the jewelry set will remain in the factory museum in the settlement of Yantarny in the Kaliningrad region. The exhibit will serve as a tangible example of how an ancient gemstone can find new expression in the era of digital technologies.
