Digital MIPT Platform Brings Physics Instruction to Schools Across Russia
A specialized digital platform created by one of Russia’s top tech universities is expanding advanced STEM education to regional schools nationwide.
Fifty regions across Russia have joined a project launched by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), which allows school students to study physics and mathematics online with university-level instructors. Classes are held on the digital platform “Science in the Regions.”
In Primorsky Krai, 103 schools—both urban and rural—have connected to the service. This is more than an online course library; it is a full educational navigator. Teachers receive direct access to university teaching methods and can request special MIPT webinars to break down particularly challenging topics.
For students, the platform helps track subject mastery over time along with related indicators such as increased motivation and greater clarity in choosing a future profession.
A Personalized Resource
According to teachers, participation in the program motivates students not only to study subjects more deeply but also to join academic competitions. In the 2025 school year, new subjects—biology, chemistry, and computer science—were added to the project. Modern digital services make it possible for even students in remote areas to receive high‑quality technical education. IT talent development in Russia now begins in school: students not only master sciences but also build career pathways, understanding where and what they want to study after graduation.
