Free AI System to Be Rolled Out to All Schools in Yakutia
The National Library of Yakutia will provide all schools in the region with free access to an artificial intelligence system. The republic’s head announced the initiative during a live call-in program.
According to Nikolaev, AI should serve as a student’s assistant rather than solve problems or write term papers for them. Students should do the work themselves, while neural-network capabilities can help them along the way.
The project is linked to the Biblioteka-Neiro (Library-Neiro) platform, developed by the Arctic State Institute of Arts, Culture and Creative Industries and the National Library of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The platform was presented to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in July during his visit to the Kvartal Truda creative cluster in Yakutsk. Since 2026, the platform has been undergoing pilot testing at 25 central libraries in regions across Russia. It combines tools for cataloging, intelligent information search, collection development and library services.
