Moscow Region Government Switches to Russian Software

A Russian company has delivered a virtual infrastructure for more than 1,000 public-sector employees.

The Moscow Region government has migrated to domestically developed software, following the deployment of a new virtual ecosystem created by Russian IT company Basis. The company, which specializes in software for managing dynamic infrastructure, announced the project in a statement.

Basis supplied secure digital workplaces for more than 1,000 public-sector specialists. All solutions were deployed on Russian-made software and hardware platforms.

The virtualization platform consolidates the core computing resources of the regional government’s information systems. Basis Dynamix Cloud Control provides the cloud infrastructure, Basis Guard protects the system against cyber incidents, and a separate solution supports the integration of virtual environments.

A Joint Effort Delivers Results

Taken together, the solutions fully support the delivery of public services to residents of the region as well as the government’s internal management needs. Basis specialists installed 480 servers that serve as nodes of the virtual infrastructure.

“Replacing the IT infrastructure of the government of one of Russia’s most populous regions is a complex and large-scale project that requires precise and well-coordinated actions from all participants,” said David Matrosov, CEO of Basis Group.

The project highlights the maturity of Russian IT solutions and their successful adoption within the public sector.
