Russia rolls out Umnaya Litei'ka platform for industrial shop floors
Russia has introduced a new digital platform designed to modernise foundry operations by automatically collecting data from all production equipment.

The country’s industrial sector has taken another step towards digitalisation. SLT, in partnership with domestic developer Winnum, has launched a software–hardware platform known as “Umnaya Litei'ka” (Smart Foundry)
The ready-made system turns fragmented foundry operations into a single, transparent, and manageable production environment. The platform automatically gathers data from all equipment – from raw material preparation to shipment of finished products – creating a digital record for every individual casting.
End-to-end integration and technological independence
At the core of the development is the creation of a unified digital environment for the workshop. The system removes manual data entry and reduces human error, providing round-the-clock process monitoring, according to metallurgy-russia. Each product receives a unique production history, recording parameters such as mixture composition, metal temperature, pouring speed, and other critical indicators.
The platform is positioned as a full replacement for foreign alternatives. Its software is listed in Russia’s unified register of domestic programs, does not rely on Microsoft technologies, and is fully adapted to the Astra Linux operating system. Users receive not just software, but a complete package that includes the platform itself, cloud storage, controllers, sensors, and control systems.
A single control centre for the entire workshop
As SLT emphasises, Smart Foundry is not just an accounting system. It is designed as a decision-support tool and a foundation for the transition to digital manufacturing. The enterprise gains a single control centre for managing the entire workshop.
Deploying the platform addresses key challenges of modern production, including energy consumption monitoring, end-to-end product identification, digital reporting, equipment condition monitoring, and automated quality control. The result is lower defect rates, higher revenue, and more efficient use of production capacity.
Once implemented, Smart Foundry provides enterprises with an intuitive dashboard that visualises all processes in real time, as well as a visual builder for creating custom workflows and reports. This allows the system to be flexibly adapted to the specific needs of each plant.
