Russian Students Use AI to Create a Scent Symbolizing the Future

Developed by schoolchildren and a neural network, the "Aroma of Innovation" blends metallic notes, green apple, and creativity.
High school students at the “Quantorium.Novatoria” tech park in Ivanovo, Russia, have unveiled a strikingly unconventional digital product: a technology-inspired perfume called “Aroma of Innovation.” The scent is the result of a collaboration between young developers and artificial intelligence, which generated hundreds of potential formulas. Students and mentors then selected the most unexpected combinations.
The core note is green apple — chosen to symbolize fresh ideas — accented by metallic tones, juniper, white musk, and neroli. The result is what the team calls a “multifaceted olfactory image of the future.” The packaging was designed and manufactured on-site using laser cutters and 3D printers.
Alexey Kiryanov, director of the Novation Center, described the fragrance as “molecules of the future,” where technology meets human senses. Previously, the same team developed sounds, flavors, and tactile experiences using similar methods.
According to the students, the perfume is “for those who program dreams and build tomorrow.” The group’s first tech-inspired fragrance, “Aroma of STI,” was released earlier.
