Yandex says its search engine continues to function even when restrictions are imposed on mobile internet usage. If a website referenced in search results is included in an approved whitelist, users can open it directly. In other cases, Alice provides a concise answer with the relevant information directly in the search window. In effect, the assistant summarizes content from sources that may be inaccessible during connectivity disruptions.

“The search engine continues to process requests and provide answers. If the required sites are included in whitelists, users can access them directly. If not, the information can be viewed in a short AI-generated response from Alice, which remains available in both the browser and the Yandex search app,” the company’s press service said.

Core Functionality

Even with weak connectivity, the system retains its core functionality. For example, users can still build routes, check business hours, and access other essential information through Alice.

What Remains Available

In addition to text responses, maps, and reference data on organizations, users can also view photos, videos, and look up additional details for specific addresses.

As a result, even during connectivity disruptions, core services remain operational, with Alice acting as an intermediary between users and otherwise inaccessible websites.
