BRICS+ Science Week in Moscow Explores the Quantum Universe and Future Technologies

The international festival at Zaryadye Park brings together scientists from multiple countries to share cutting-edge research with the public.

Moscow is hosting the Open Science Week of BRICS+ Countries, a large international educational marathon aimed at popularizing science and technology. Visitors will learn about the quantum universe, artificial intelligence, and next-generation innovations from leading researchers across the BRICS+ community.

According to Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina, the program includes nearly 40 diverse events—from lectures on robotics and neural network training to specialized educational programs. Between November 10 and 14, scientists from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and China will deliver talks and demonstrations.

Among the highlights: Professor Nikolai Nikitin of Moscow State University will discuss the search for the “ideal” vaccine; researchers from Uzbekistan will explore the role of AI in next-generation control systems; and Meir Yerdauletov from Kazakhstan will introduce audiences to the IBR-2 neutron reactor at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research.

Cinema, Experiments, and Science Without Borders

The festival will conclude with a “Lecture Hall Without Borders” and the Festival of Popular Science Cinema (FANK). Scientists from Ghana, Germany, and Colombia will present their latest research on scar treatment methods, optimization algorithms, and high-tech crop production.

Interactive workshops will let schoolchildren visualize DNA and explore how digital technologies are transforming fields like geology and chemistry.

Hosting the BRICS+ Science Week in Moscow reinforces Russia’s position as a global hub of scientific thought while making advanced knowledge accessible to a wider audience—bridging the gap between research and public engagement.
