Mission to Max: Sferum Platform Integrates Into the National Messenger

The rollout of a unified digital education framework in Russia has accelerated after the Sferum platform completed its integration with the national messenger Max. All 89 regions of the country are now connected.

Sferum enables students who are ill to stay engaged in the learning process, supports continuous classroom interaction during travel and provides a reliable communication channel between teachers and parents. After pilot testing in several regions, the platform proved its relevance. The migration of Sferum into Max has significantly expanded the reach of digital education. Simple onboarding, the ability to function even with limited internet connectivity and a focus on accessibility have made it possible to connect schools nationwide and turn digital interaction into a core element of the learning environment.

Feedback-Driven Development

The Sferum team collected hundreds of reviews, suggestions and critical comments, which informed the platform’s updated release inside the national messenger Max. The service is becoming more intuitive, clearer to navigate and more resilient.

Security is the primary focus. Users can activate safe mode, restrict profile access and fine-tune privacy settings so that academic communication remains calm, predictable and comfortable. As school interaction increasingly moves online, these controls are no longer optional extras but a baseline quality requirement.

A notable feature is the chatbot for submitting proposals directly to the minister of education. Operating within the educational environment, it allows teachers to send questions or ideas without bureaucratic delays or multi-layer approval chains.

All Roads Lead to Max

Sferum’s trajectory reflects a shift from a standalone educational service to the backbone of school communication. Initially, teachers used it to create chats, conduct online lessons and exchange materials, while parents gained a direct channel to schools. Even before full integration, these tools demonstrated the need for a stable, unified digital environment.

The turning point came with integration into Max. Six pilot regions joined in August 2025, followed by nationwide availability a month later. A built-in chatbot helps users adapt, while educators are supported by a dedicated course on digital communication. Modern teachers want to grow and master advanced digital tools that open new approaches to work, explained Ruben Akopov, CEO of Digital Education, the developer behind Sferum.

Step by step, this process has formed a unified digital infrastructure covering schools across all 89 regions.

A Digital Bell Rings

By October 2025, the Sferum educational space within Max was being used by 10 million participants, including teachers, students and parents. This scale shows that the digital education framework has moved beyond local experimentation and become part of everyday school practice.

Mass adoption also brings new requirements. The platform must remain stable under heavy load, support reliable calls and file exchanges and be accessible to all users regardless of device capabilities.

Even so, consolidating services into a single application makes interaction more logical and transparent. School communication becomes better organized, while the digital framework helps maintain the rhythm of the learning process both inside and outside the classroom.
