Russian carriers issued more than 30 million electronic documents over the past year through the state system GIS EPD, according to the Ministry of Transport. The figure has doubled compared with the previous year. The platform now processes up to 1.7 million documents online each month.

The information system automates data exchange among freight operators and provides real-time information to regulatory authorities.

The platform supports eight types of documents, including waybills and transport consignment notes. It also enables electronic trip registration and stores data on cargo, routes, and market participants. As a result, freight transportation is becoming more technologically advanced and transparent. Starting September 1, all industry documentation will be handled exclusively in electronic form.

The public sector continues to expand digital services. The Russian government recently said the next step will be to standardize request formats across federal agencies to reduce the administrative burden on regional authorities.
