Ufa Launches First Batch of 38 AI-Powered Traffic Cameras
Ufa has brought its first batch of AI-powered traffic cameras into operation. A total of 38 devices are now active, and the network is expected to grow to nearly four times its current size.

According to the Bashkortostan Traffic Management Center, the AI-powered cameras are designed to detect traffic accidents and other emergencies. When an incident is detected, information is promptly sent to emergency services. The city plans to install around 150 cameras in total, with the remaining units scheduled for deployment in 2027–2028.
Earlier, drivers spotted road signs warning of drones, not combat drones but surveillance ones. The drones record what is happening on the roads, and the footage is then analyzed to identify traffic violations. Neither the Traffic Management Center nor the State Traffic Inspectorate would say what penalties drivers could face. Across Bashkortostan, conventional traffic cameras can typically detect and record violations from distances of 30 to 100 meters.
