Rosatom Launches 3D Printing Kit to Inspire Future Engineers

A new 3D printing set for kids, developed by Russia’s Rosatom, aims to bring advanced tech skills into classrooms and homes across the country.

Russia is pushing forward with the digital transformation of its education system, and one of the standout initiatives is the new 3D printing set for kids, called '3D Kreativik.' Developed by the Additive Technologies division of Rosatom, the kit targets children aged 6 to 13. It includes a 3D printer, PLA plastic, post-processing tools, ready-made models, and educational software.

According to Ilya Kavelashvili, head of Additive Technologies, the project is part of a broader strategy focused on lifelong learning and training the next generation of talent for high-tech industries. '3D Kreativik is not just entertaining—it sparks imagination, boosts spatial thinking, and introduces kids to cutting-edge technologies through play,' he said.

Experts believe that tools like this can help transform traditional education by making it more interactive and hands-on. Integrating 3D printing into classrooms could be a powerful way to motivate students to explore engineering and digital technologies.

Rosatom hopes the kit will make additive manufacturing more accessible to both families and schools, offering a real-world alternative to video games and opening the door to engineering from a young age. The initiative reflects a growing trend of blending high-tech tools into the upbringing and education of a new generation.
