Rostelecom moves Wink Box Mini TV set-top box production to Russia
Rostelecom has relocated the assembly of its Wink Box Mini TV set-top boxes from China to Russia.

The first batch of 70,000 devices will be produced at facilities operated by “Tzifrovye Televizionnye systemy” (Digital Television Systems) in the Kaliningrad region.
Assembly has been set up at the TzTS site in the town of Gusev. The production line is designed to turn out around 150 units per hour. This is a familiar format for the plant, which has previously manufactured tens of millions of set-top boxes for Tricolor, as well as devices for Sber’s digital ecosystem. The new order expands the company’s product range and makes use of existing capacity.
For digital services
The Wink Box Mini is a compact TV set-top box designed to provide access to digital services and online video. It is powered by a quad-core processor, with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, expandable via an external USB drive. The device is intended for everyday use and connection to modern televisions, but it can also work with older models.
Russian assembly
Relocating assembly to Russia means that final configuration, testing, and quality control are now carried out domestically. This simplifies logistics, reduces dependence on external contract manufacturers, and speeds up deliveries to customers. For Rostelecom, it also allows more flexible planning of production volumes and model updates.
Customer confidence
TzTS chief executive Dmitry Fomichev highlighted the importance of the project for the company.
According to Fomichev, the current order also allows the company to contribute to the production of modern devices in demand on the mass market.
The move to local assembly of the Wink Box Mini is another step in the localisation of consumer electronics manufacturing. For the industry as a whole, it serves as a practical example of how large-scale production of devices for digital services is increasingly being anchored within the country, building on existing factories and accumulated manufacturing experience.
