Russia and Iran Find Common Ground Through Artificial Intelligence
Russia and Iran have signed a new agreement to collaborate on artificial intelligence, expanding their technological partnership into cybersecurity, digital governance, and other strategic sectors

Russia and Iran have formalized a new phase of technological cooperation by signing an agreement on artificial intelligence. The document was finalized in Moscow following the fifth meeting of the joint working group on communications and information technologies. According to Iranian state television, the partnership also extends to cybersecurity, smart‑government solutions, digital economy projects, and blockchain technologies.
A Growing Network of International Tech Partnerships
The agreement strengthens Russia’s expanding global technology collaborations. Earlier this year, Moscow and New Delhi advanced a new model of cooperation—the “SSSR” framework (Sovereignty, Solidarity, Fairness, and Rationality)—designed to support a multipolar technological ecosystem built on independent, interoperable solutions.
Russia has also reached an understanding with Saudi Arabia to cooperate in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. Priority areas include applied AI for healthcare diagnostics, education, and geospatial analytics. Both countries will explore introducing digital technologies into construction, smart‑city infrastructure, and municipal systems.
These cross‑border projects reflect Russia’s strategy to deepen international technology ties at a time when AI continues to reshape global innovation landscapes.
