Russia to Deploy AI Care Assistants for Seniors Living Alone

Within the next few years, artificial intelligence could become a vital safety net for elderly Russians providing real-time health and security monitoring.

In Russia, AI-powered assistants may soon help monitor the safety and well-being of people living alone. According to TASS, Alexey Palamarchuk—head of Nteshlab, a partner of the state corporation Rostec—said the business community is focusing on creating interactive digital aides for Russian households.

One of the key technologies expected to be adapted from industry to home use is human fall detection. Currently used at industrial sites, the system alerts relatives when it detects that someone has fallen—potentially saving lives in households with elderly residents. There are approximately 11 million seniors in Russia living alone and this fact makes such solutions highly relevant.

Several digital tools developed by Russian companies are already being used in daily life including license plate recognition systems, home security cameras, and multifunctional smart sensors. The most in-demand solutions are those focused on personal safety.
