Russian-Made Defibrillators with Voice Guidance Are Saving Lives
A new medical device from the Rostec state corporation guides users through every step of resuscitation, making lifesaving care accessible to anyone.

A new Russian innovation—the A25 automated external defibrillator (AED)—is being introduced nationwide in hospitals and clinics. The device, designed to restore normal heart rhythm, is produced by the Shvabe holding, part of the Rostec state corporation.
The key feature of the A25 is its built-in voice guidance system, which contains 84 detailed audio instructions that walk the user through each stage of resuscitation. This allows the device to be used effectively not only by medical professionals but also by people with basic first aid training.
The defibrillator’s intuitive interface automatically analyzes the patient’s heart rhythm and detects when a shock is needed. Timely use of the A25 can increase a person’s chances of survival by up to 40%. The first units have already been delivered to medical institutions in seven Russian regions.
Russia’s broader approach to healthcare is built around a continuous digital ecosystem for patient management — from innovative diagnostic tools to electronic medical records, which are expected to be available to every resident by 2026.
