Russian Oil Industry Shifts to Fully Domestic IT Control System
Russia’s extractive sector is moving toward full reliance on domestic IT platforms, aiming to boost efficiency, reliability, and technological sovereignty.

In December 2025, the company DKS will unveil a Russian-made SCADA system for the fuel and energy sector. SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) platforms are designed to monitor oil and gas production and transport, manage well operations, and detect leaks or emergencies.
The system offers a full range of functions—from process visualization and equipment automation to generating analytical reports.
SCADA will be integrated into the Mitra ecosystem, also developed by DKS. This end-to-end solution combines controllers, operator panels, and communication hardware. With the new integration, the ecosystem becomes fully closed-loop, implementing the principle of “from sensor to analytics” entirely on domestic software and hardware.
The development strengthens Russia’s technological sovereignty in the extractive industries, complementing other innovations such as digital twins of oil fields and AI-driven resource-saving technologies.
