Russian Post Launches Nationwide Mail Digitization
Customers can now read the contents of their paper letters digitally, even before the mail reaches local post office.

The new feature is available in Moscow, Tver, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Voronezh, Saratov, Kazan, Izhevsk, Samara, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, and Vladivostok.
Instead of waiting for physical delivery, users can access their letters through the Russian Post mobile app. Mail is digitized at specialized scanning centers, and electronic copies are uploaded to customer accounts. Original letters are stored free of charge for one month and then destroyed. The service costs 63 rubles (about $0.70). The company assures that all confidentiality requirements are strictly observed.
The pilot project for individuals began in May 2025 in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Tver. For businesses, the feature has been available for three years.
