Russia’s Digital Ministry Adds Tantor XData 2B on Baikal-S to Registry of Hardware-and-Software Systems
The Tantor Labs database machine has been officially registered, marking a key step toward technological independence.

The Russian Digital Ministry has added the Tantor XData 2B database machine developed by Tantor Labs to its official registry of hardware-and-software systems under entry No. 31712. The move is seen as an important milestone on the path toward full technological independence.
Tantor XData 2B is an integrated hardware-and-software system built around the Tantor Postgres database management system and deployed on servers powered by the Russian-made Baikal-S processor. The chip features 48 ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz and is designed to handle enterprise-class workloads.
Hardware Meets Software
At the core of the system is a tightly optimized combination of hardware and software that automatically allocates resources and processes large volumes of queries. This design delivers high throughput and minimal latency. The equipment has also demonstrated strong fault tolerance when working with large data sets.
The system supports a wide range of use cases, including real-time transaction processing, big data analytics, monitoring, and reporting. In its ready-made form, it is suitable for high-load corporate and government systems, as well as for banks, telecom operators, and retail companies.
Powerful Even in a Basic Configuration
The Tantor XData 2B database machine delivers up to 120,000 transactions per second under OLTP workloads and backup speeds of up to 35 TB per hour, even in its minimum configuration. This level of performance is achieved through deep integration of the hardware platform with a PostgreSQL-compatible DBMS.
The system allows resources to be scaled dynamically without downtime and workloads to be distributed across clusters. All components can be managed via a graphical interface, an API, or a command-line console, making deployment scenarios flexible and easing the workload for administrators.
Inclusion of Tantor XData 2B in the Digital Ministry’s registry confirms that the product meets security and reliability requirements for mission-critical systems. It is ready for industrial use and is expected to become a foundation for large-scale projects with demanding data-processing needs.
The new hardware expands the range of choices available to Russian businesses and government bodies when selecting domestic technology products, gradually reducing dependence on foreign platforms.
