Analysts predict Russia’s drone delivery market could hit 25 billion rubles ($312.5 m) annually by 2030, with demand booming in agriculture and construction.
Russia’s drone-based delivery market could grow to 25 billion rubles ($312.5m) a year by 2030, according to the National Operator of Civil Unmanned Aviation Systems. The forecast covers not only urban logistics but also transportation of goods to remote regions, with plans to create distribution centers in hard-to-reach communities.
Experts believe the largest customers are likely to include Russian Post, Samokat, CDEK, and Ozon. Partnerships with such companies could enable rapid scaling of the technology.
Beyond logistics, drones are expected to make a significant impact in other industries. In agriculture, demand is projected to grow sharply, expanding the market to 21.1 billion rubles ($263.75m). In construction, the figure is estimated at 18.1 billion rubles ($226.25m).
Another promising sector is infrastructure monitoring, including power lines, oil and gas pipelines, railroads, and telecom networks. This segment alone could generate about 14 billion rubles ($175m). Meanwhile, drone applications for public safety are forecast to reach 9.2 billion rubles ($115m).
