According to the latest data, almost 40% of Russian companies have already integrated artificial intelligence into their internal operations. That is the conclusion of a new study by SberAnalytics and Sber Business Soft. Neural networks are most commonly used to streamline document management, financial operations, and hiring. Among the most widely adopted tools are electronic document management systems, CRM platforms, chatbots, and voice assistants.

Survey participants say these technologies help cut labor costs, speed up task execution, and reduce the volume of manual work.

As noted by Kristina Tantsyura, CEO and managing partner of SKY Consulting Group and head of the committee for cooperation with the UAE and Gulf countries at the Association of Exporters and Importers, Russia is following its own path in how it approaches artificial intelligence.

“Russia has an exceptionally strong engineering and IT school. At the same time, businesses are taking a regulatory approach to AI adoption – not a race to deploy at any cost, but systematic testing in sandboxes (in IT, a sandbox is an isolated environment for safely running programs), ethical codes, and close attention to personal data. This reflects a national trait – cautious self-reliance that favors slower but more reliable system building,” Tantsyura says.

Trust, Then Accelerate

According to NAFI, 73% of Russian business leaders generally trust neural networks. Every second company executive is ready to delegate tasks to AI agents without constant oversight. Businesses prefer ready-made solutions and are prepared to increase investment in AI use by 25%, according to a report by Yakov and Partners and Yandex.

“However, the pragmatic deployment model typical for Russia is only one possible scenario. The Gulf countries, for example, are building ecosystems of vertical technological transformation, betting on AI integration as a high-level ‘advisor.’ Russia, by choosing the path of technological sovereignty, is focusing on creating its own resilient solutions for key industries – strengthening national security and independence,” Tantsyura concludes.
