Russia’s “Gosuslugi” Portal May Add an Emergency Button
The country’s main digital services platform could soon let users call the police, fire department, or ambulance directly online.

The Russian government has given preliminary approval for adding a “safety button” to the national e-services portal, Gosuslugi, according to Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The new feature will serve as a 24/7 free emergency alert tool integrated into the country’s unified 112 service. With a single tap, users will be able to report emergencies or summon an ambulance, police, or firefighters. Currently, more than 94 million people use the Gosuslugi platform.
Lawmakers have already submitted a draft bill to the State Duma to establish the safety button on the portal. Authorities are now fine-tuning the system — determining how emergency messages will be routed, how the service will function without internet access, and how to streamline the multi-step user identification process.
